Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all services, products, equipment hire, and business dealings provided by Great Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 29 625 607 025) ("Great Energy", "we", "us", "our"). By engaging our services or purchasing products from us, you ("the Client", "you", "your") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services

Great Energy provides power generation services including but not limited to:

  • Generator sales (new and used)
  • Generator and load bank hire (short-term and long-term)
  • Preventative maintenance and servicing
  • Load bank testing
  • Generator overhauls, repairs, and upgrades
  • Power station construction
  • Power station operation and maintenance
  • Labour hire (technicians and operators)
  • Home generator installation and service
  • 24/7 emergency breakdown service

All services are subject to availability and may vary by location across our service areas in Queensland and Western Australia.

2. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by Great Energy are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are exclusive of GST unless expressly stated otherwise. We reserve the right to adjust pricing where the scope of work changes from the original quote.

3. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment terms are as follows:

  • Generator sales: full payment prior to delivery or as per agreed payment schedule
  • Equipment hire: payment in advance or as per the hire agreement
  • Service and maintenance: payment within 14 days of invoice date
  • Power station contracts: as per individual contract terms
  • Labour hire: weekly or fortnightly as agreed

Overdue payments may incur interest at the rate of 2% per month on the outstanding balance. Great Energy reserves the right to suspend services or withhold equipment for overdue accounts.

4. Invoice Requirements for Suppliers and Contractors

Any business, supplier, contractor, or third party conducting work for or on behalf of Great Energy, or supplying goods or services to Great Energy, must submit invoices that are fully itemised and contain sufficient detail of the work performed, goods supplied, or services rendered.

At a minimum, each invoice submitted to Great Energy must include:

  • A clear description of each item of work performed or product/service supplied
  • The date(s) on which the work was carried out or goods were delivered
  • The number of hours worked (where applicable) and the applicable rate
  • A breakdown of parts, materials, or consumables used, including individual costs
  • Any travel, freight, or ancillary charges listed separately
  • The relevant purchase order or job reference number (where provided)
  • The supplier's ABN and business details

Invoices that are not sufficiently itemised or lack adequate detail of the work completed will not be approved for payment. Great Energy reserves the right to reject and return any invoice that does not meet these requirements. Payment will not be processed until a compliant invoice has been received.

This requirement applies to all suppliers and contractors without exception, regardless of the value of the invoice or the nature of the business relationship.

5. Equipment Hire Terms

All equipment hired from Great Energy remains our property at all times. The Client agrees to:

  • Use the equipment only for its intended purpose and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Not modify, alter, or tamper with hired equipment without our written consent
  • Return equipment in the same condition as received, fair wear and tear excepted
  • Be responsible for all damage, loss, or theft of equipment while in their possession
  • Not sub-hire or allow third parties to use the equipment without our written approval
  • Ensure the equipment is operated by suitably qualified personnel
  • Provide a suitable and safe operating environment for all hired equipment

Hire periods commence from the date of delivery or collection and end upon the return and inspection of equipment. Minimum hire periods may apply.

6. Generator Sales

Title and ownership of purchased generators transfer to the buyer upon receipt of full payment. Risk passes to the buyer upon delivery or collection. All sales are final unless a warranty claim applies. Generators are sold with manufacturer warranties where applicable, and Great Energy may offer additional service warranties as agreed in writing.

7. Warranties and Guarantees

Great Energy warrants that all services will be performed with due care and skill in accordance with Australian industry standards. Warranty periods for parts and labour will be specified at the time of service or sale. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded or modified by agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Great Energy's total liability arising from or in connection with the supply of goods or services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the specific goods or services giving rise to the claim. Great Energy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, including but not limited to loss of revenue, profit, business, or data, however caused.

9. Work Health and Safety

Great Energy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld). All clients and their personnel must comply with our safety requirements when on our premises or worksites. We reserve the right to cease work if unsafe conditions are identified.

10. Cancellations

Cancellation of services or hire must be made in writing. The following cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 48 hours before scheduled work: no cancellation fee
  • Less than 48 hours before scheduled work: a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted price may apply
  • Custom-ordered generators or parts: cancellations may not be accepted, or a restocking fee may apply

11. Force Majeure

Great Energy shall not be liable for any failure to perform obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather events, pandemics, government actions, supply chain disruptions, or industrial disputes.

12. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, designs, technical documentation, and software (including the Great Energy mobile application), remains the property of Great Energy. No licence or right to use our intellectual property is granted except as expressly provided.

13. Mobile Application

Use of the Great Energy mobile application is subject to these Terms as well as the applicable app store terms of service. The app is provided "as is" and Great Energy does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the app at any time.

14. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter through good faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute may be referred to the courts of Queensland.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia. Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

16. Changes to Terms

Great Energy reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on this page with the revised date. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
